Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro
I had to try CA’s #1 cigar of the year for 2019, the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro. In fact, I’d already seen this Nicaraguan puro listed in two other online top 10’s, so expectations were high. If you’ve never cold drawn, this would be a great stick to start with. While I usually don’t pick up any exciting notes, I was able to detect subtle chocolate and caramel aromas. The torpedo came to life without much fanfare during lighting. I was particularly pleased that the draw was a little on the loose side, resulting in thick, rich plumes of smoke. The first two-thirds yielded significant dark chocolate flavor. The retrohale was slightly peppery, yet smooth in texture. The final third lost its essence, but smokeability remained high. Construction was above average and no relighting or touch up was required. At $10/stick, I don’t see the Quattro Nicaragua as a daily smoke. Try one now and then put a couple down for additional aging.
