Named for the 40% of life you can control, the Alec Bradley Project 40 Toro didn’t inspire me with confidence on the cold draw. A bitter hay taste covered my palette and took a few minutes to dissipate. Remarkably, the Project 40 unveiled dense milk chocolate flavors, like high-quality chocolate milk. Later, notes of honey and cereal, like Honeycombs, dominated the profile. The cigar’s last third brought ever-increasing doses of caramel, resulting in a long finish. Coffee appeared on the initial retrohales, changing to cocoa and then to a subtle spice at the end.
