Cigar reviews – 99 words or less
Two years ago, during a visit to Durham, NC, I found myself at an unassuming two-story dwelling touted as a cigar lounge. I went in and met Jeffrey Amendola. His warmth and authenticity were evident immediately, as was his love for the leaf. The Cannoli harkens to Amendola’s Italian heritage. Tobacco notes crept from the cold draw. Tasty spices escaped in the first third, adding nuts followed by chocolate for a complex experience. I tasted salted pretzel in the second third, which sweetened into pie crust and caramel. Baking spice mingled with the caramel for a delightful finish.
