It is okay that you haven’t heard of Archive Cigars. Archive is the product of cigar-loving Japanese whisky lovers that decided to create their own cigars. The Habano picked up four years of aging, resulting in a mellow yet simplistic smoke. Powerful sourdough bread flavors dominated the cold draw. My flame unleashed wood, shadowed by baker’s cocoa, in the first third. Cocoa blossomed into chocolate through the midpoint, picking up tinges of earth and wood. By the finish, only earth remained. The extra aging may have eliminated the richness of flavors.
