Leave it to Privada Club to source Archive Cigars’ Japan Highland Maduro Toro. With only Japanese characters on the band, I couldn’t interpret the exact name. Tobacco notes came through on the cold draw. Post-light, espresso poured out, reminding me of the strength in the last sip of a cup. About an inch in, cacao came online, strong and bitter. The midpoint ushered in coffee, interspersed with chocolate. A crack in the wrapper created some airflow challenges. It grew, as did my frustration with the matter. The straightforward flavor profile should be appreciated by smokers of all types.
