If you’re into Cuban cigars, you know the name Nelson Alfonso. He’s the creator of the highly acclaimed and exclusive Cohiba Behike. Nelson created Atabey, named for the Mother Goddess of the Taino people, to serve as his new masterpiece. The Atabey Brujos wears a flawless greenish-tan wrapper and a gorgeous gold, black, and white band. I tasted sweet Hawaiian bread on the cold draw. Caramel and bread greeted me, followed by oak and cedar. Werther’s-like caramel returned for a sweet treat finale. Very subtle spice passed on the retrohales, and the overall construction was excellent.
