Blackbird Cigar Company’s Idalia 108 Box-pressed Toro pays tribute to the grandmother of the company’s founder. The first thing that struck me about this cigar was the large cap on the pudgy, but somewhat pointy end. It’s known as the 109-style cap. Faint cocoa hints flowed out of the cold draw. Fire released deep espresso notes in the first third. Then, rich mocha flavors poured through, transitioning to coffee and cream in the final third. Retrohales of subtle spice complemented the flavors within. The Idalia 108 is worth the investment, plus your friends won’t have one in their humidors.
