CAO Italia Ciao
The last of a five-pack, I gladly said, “Ciao!” (goodbye) to the CAO Italia Ciao. An inconsistent robusto, today’s Ciao suffered from overfill resulting in a poor draw and a canoe. After a tobacco-flavored cold draw, the CAO offered tea and sourdough bread in the first half. Later, mocha and more sourdough bread came through in an unpleasant mixture. Notes of cedar and sourdough emerged in the retrohales. The extremely tight draw meant short puffs were needed to sustain combustion, which stole any relaxation I may have enjoyed. If you want an Italia, choose carefully – fingers crossed.
