Mexico’s stature as a premium tobacco producer improved during the last decade in large part to the Turrent family. The Casa Turrent Serie 1942 Toro cigar proves Mexican tobacco’s excellent flavor and capabilities. A tasty dose of cocoa awakened my senses on the cold draw. Post-light, I detected pie crust followed by sourdough bread. Then, a sweet cocoa essence took over in the second third, which dovetailed into caramel. Baking spice in the retrohales balanced the overall flavor profile. Outstanding construction yielded plenty of smoke and resulted in an even burn. Put one away in your reserve to age.
