The Casdagli family’s story begins over a century ago when its patriarch, Emmanuel Casdagli, built a cotton empire in Europe and North Africa. The Basilica line honors Emmanuel with his image on the cigar band. Earth and barnyard notes escaped through the cold draw. Generous helpings of spice made an introduction, followed by woody tinges. As the wood dissolved, an earthy essence took over. The earth finally made room for coffee and leather in the final third. Overall, the flavors were muted, and they lacked harmony and balance.
