Crowned Heads released a bombshell with the Las Calaveras in 2014. The follow-up regular production cigar, albeit with a different blend, was the La Imperiosa. I like the band, featuring a gold crown and appointments on top of a Tiffany-like blue. Tobacco tinges hit my lips on the cold draw. The first third introduced me to giant notes of chocolate-covered cherries, rich and syrupy-sweet. After an inch, I got swept away by earth mixed with dark roast coffee. Later, mixed nuts rushed in. By the final third campfire with an undertone of cocoa held steady.
