Hopeless. Desvalido. That’s how Ian Reith, founder of Dapper Cigars, felt when looking for the right tobaccos to create his dream cigar, Desvalido. He should be proud of the result he achieved. The artwork on the band is striking. Sweet notes of cocoa trickled through on the cold draw. Once aflame, rich flavors of chocolate and caramel debuted, trailed by graham cracker. Pretzel changed things up to begin the second third, later transitioning to allspice and oak. The final third recalled the chocolate from the beginning, along with saltine cracker. Both spice and black pepper played through the retrohales.
