All hail Julius Caesar! When Diamond Crown created a new line featuring the most famous Roman emperor of all time, the pressure was on. And they nailed it. From the outside, the Julius Caesar looks regal, from the purple-hued band to the flawless wrapper. I drew in woody notes on the cold draw. The first third handed me leathery notes, like the scent of an old ball glove. Some oak pushed through, along with dried fruit for a pleasing middle third. Then caramel and cream ruled the final third until the end, where toasted brioche made a brief appearance.
