A former CA Cigar of the Year, the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic spent the last six months in my humidor. The cold draw offered subtle tinges of cocoa. Once the Encore fired up, tasty notes of coffee appeared in the thick creamy smoke. Later, chocolate mingled with coffee to produce a wonderful mocha flavor. This interplay lasted through the rest of the cigar and resulted in savory, long finishes. I detected only subtle spice notes on my retrohales. Though not as sophisticated as I expected, the Encore delivered great flavor. An even burn and excellent combustion enhanced the experience.
