The shrinking number of farms and acreage in the Connecticut River valley means that the Connecticut Broadleaf is becoming scarce. The Tabernacle Robusto cigar comes draped with a dark brown broadleaf wrapper wearing a gold outlined band with an image of an ancient king. Notes of hot cocoa dribbled out of the cold draw. Dark chocolate delivered a sweet and rich opening third. Flavors slowly shifted to meat and Caribbean spices in the second third, followed up by dried fruit and wood in the final third. Peppery retrohales complemented the flavors throughout the experience.
