The Gran Habano Connecticut #1 Rothchild is a bargain smoke. The Connecticut wrapper featured some spots and inconsistent color. The cold draw offered a dry grass taste, reminiscent of hot summer droughts. Notes of cedar debuted, transitioning to hay about one-third in. The midpoint brought white bread, a flavor that persisted to the finish. I enjoyed peppery notes in the retrohales. Construction was decent, allowing a moderate amount of airflow. Mild and bland, I was hoping for a little more complexity in the blend.
