It is throwback time again, now with a new entry from Vintage Fresh – the Honest George corona. Wearing a band printed in 1931, the beginning of the Great Depression, Honest George is named for our first president, George Washington. I tasted woody tinges in the cold draw. Wood continued into the first third, but there was a richness and complexity to the woodiness. The wood surrendered to espresso by the second third. Toffee took command at the midpoint, softening to caramel, which was accompanied by some subtle woody notes. The uninspiring finish only presented campfire.
