Each time I see an HVC, I want to get on a plane to Havana City. The Serie A, named for the grade A tobacco sourced from Aganorsa Leaf, wears a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper. I tasted hints of earth in the cold draw. Earth reappeared, coupled with spice, in the initial puffs. A rush of red pepper ensued, falling away into roasted nuts. The final third highlighted rye, followed by leather and earthy notes. The flavors in this cigar did not mingle well. Plus, the burn went wavy from the beginning, and two major canoes developed.
