The Aganorsa Leaf label, JFR, boasts a unique history. JFR stands for “Just For Retailers.” Meant to be a bandless value cigar for retailers, Jose “Don Pepin” Garcia” blended these gems for Tabacalera Tropical. A few years later, Casa Fernandez took them mainstream. Some straw and earth debuted in the cold draw. A healthy dose of black pepper and earth started things off. Leather and subtle cocoa notes quickly took hold, eventually giving way to oak and Brazil nuts. By the final third, earth returned with an undertone of coffee beans. The JFR Maduro is a phenomenal deal.
