When the La Aurora Preferidos perfects debuted in their submarine-shaped tubes, I was smitten. Great branding and extraordinary packaging made it a must-have in the cigar market. The La Aurora Black Broadleaf Preferidos No. 1 Perfecto looks luxurious with its deep brown, oily wrapper. The cold draw revealed bitter tobacco flavors. Loads of dark roasted coffee held serve through the first third, occasionally inviting wood to join in. The coffee deepened to espresso by the midpoint, mixing with campfire for an earthy experience. The black peppery retrohales provided some kick throughout.
