Some cigar brand names fascinate me. Las Cabrillas roughly translates to the small waves cresting over the surface of the sea. It makes sense then that the vitolas are named after over-ocean explorers, like this robusto called Cortez. The Las Cabrillas presented dough on the cold draw. The first third offered white toast, which was chased away by vanilla. Shortbread came to play, trading spots with the vanilla during the first and second thirds. Hay pushed the fun flavors aside for a dull finish. The low price, quality construction, and decent flavors make this a cigar to share.
