What if Fulgencio Batista, Cuba’s president in the 1950’s, was able to keep Fidel Castro from gaining power? That is the question asked by Privada Club and Montenegro Cigars. The band features a portrait of Batista, memorializing his reign when Havana was king. Sourdough bread snuck through on the cold draw. Lots of cedar kicked things off, followed by wood. The midpoint delivered caramel and cream, like a bullseye candy. The Batista mellowed out to earth and bread in the finale. Retrohales started with spice and ended with black pepper, pairing perfectly with the flavors in each third.
