The Padilla Finest Hour Connecticut Robusto wears a regal band adorned with a gold lion’s head and fancy crosses. After a straight cut through the yellow-brown Connecticut wrapper, I pulled tinges of caramel and sweet pipe tobacco. The first half brought healthy doses of raisins, with occasional bursts of cloves and spices. Once I hit the midpoint, the profile changed to caramel and cream, which carried on to the finish line. The spicy retrohales always seemed to enhance the internal flavors. The Finest Hour’s construction yielded excellent airflow and smoke production.
