Just when I think I may know a thing or two about cigars, I get humbled. I had never heard of Patoro, much less the Gran Añejo Reserva, but it has been blessing smokers for two decades. Consider me enlightened and wanting more Patoros. The bliss of a Rolo candy touched my palate on the cold draw. Flame brought out coffee notes initially, but the Patoro quickly transitioned to honey-roasted peanuts. The midpoint delivered cedar, trailed by oak. Sourdough, with hints of cocoa, opened the final third, only to leave earth and caramel to delight me in the end.
