Some tobacco crops outshine their counterparts. This was the case in 2014 when the Plasencia family harvested their 149th crop. To mark the occasion, Plasencia released the Cosecha 149, a Honduran puro cigar with aged tobaccos from several distinct growing regions. After a very bitter cocoa taste on the cold draw, I drew in lots of wood and milk chocolate. Plum and black cherry sprang into the scene before the first third closed. A cocoa undercurrent took hold, mixing with campfire, then wood and earth. Poor airflow and an uneven burn made me work too hard to enjoy it.
