Protocol Cigars chose to honor past lawmen with its new cigar lines. The Sir Robert Peel takes its name from the founder of the Metropolitan Police Service and its headquarters, Scotland Yard. The natural toro released some bitter tobacco notes on the cold draw. I enjoyed black pepper and cedar wrapped with a current of dough in the first third. Floral and earthy notes danced together through the middle, setting me up for a complex finish. It started with Earl Grey tea and oak, then moved to earth with bursts of mocha. Tasty and fulfilling from start to finish.
