Romeo y Julieta looks fresh and smokes fresh. Altadis USA revamped the portfolio several years ago, and the new blends made the Romeo name trendy again. The Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua toro is a well-constructed, albeit straightforward, puro. I pulled in woody notes in the cold draw. The richness of coffee debuted in the first dozen puffs, followed by wood. As the second third began, nuts took over, eventually fading to leave coffee again. Coffee stood poised through the final third until woodiness came back for a finale. At less than $8, this Romeo is a good buy.
