Large ring gauge cigars are not going away. So, I have embraced the newer vitola, leading to several surprising and tasty experiences. The Serino 20th Anniversary Royale Medio Robusto Gordo sported a dark toothy wrapper. Notes of hay escaped on the cold daw. I tasted corn husks, followed by woody and earthy notes. A rush of baking spice overtook me in the second third. It settled into shortbread before a transition to mocha at the edge of the final third. Light roast coffee with bursts of caramel provided a delicious conclusion. A wavy burn turned into an uncontrollable canoe.
