It takes guts to open a new factory during the pandemic, and that’s just what Hostos Fernández Quesada did. At the end of 2020, he debuted Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic, focusing on private label cigars like the Bonita Bonita Bonita robusto. Lovely chocolate flavors fell from the cold draw. The wood matured into cedar by the final third, pulling in earthy notes at the end.
