Cigar reviews – 99 words or less

Named for the famed Calle Ocho in Miami, Traficante’s flavorful and fancy robusto brings the heat. The tied-on square card stock features 80’s colors and a flamingo, typical for South Florida. I tasted tinges of tobacco on the cold draw. More robust tobacco followed once the cigar came alive. Then the flavors opened up, led by chocolate chip cookie. By the midpoint, sweet Hawaiian bread arrived for a brief stay, exiting in favor of mocha that transitioned to coffee. The final third amped things up with Mexican hot chocolate. Black peppery retrohales seemed to overpower the other flavors.
