This boutique firm produces cigars in very small batches, and it uses a special aging process that adds two years of maturity to the leaves. Tobacco notes discharged from the cold draw. Robust flavors of spiced cake excited me at the start. As the spice dissolved, coffee and black pepper filled the void. By the midpoint, I only tasted toast. But then earth and wood came into the mix, followed by a pumpernickel finale. Both spice and pepper appeared on the flavorful and satisfying retrohales.
