The Vault Series 1 toro comes from Hugo Sanchez and the Raices Cubanas Farm and Factory. Hugo invited Privada Club to distribute a cache of cigars that had been aging for six years. The slightly box-pressed toro wears a simple band with pastel-colored bars, reminding me of the late 80’s. Sweet tobacco notes debuted in the cold draw. Nuts and spices kicked things off and held court for the first third. As I neared the midpoint, earth and sweet nougat took hold. As the nougat retreated, salted caramel picked up, followed by caramel and light roast coffee.
