Cigar reviews – 99 words or less
In nearly 20 years of cigar smoking, I cannot recall ever seeing a Brazilian puro. Villiger brings us the Corrida Brazil toro featuring an exclusive blend of Brazilian tobacco, including an Arapiraca wrapper. Bitter cocoa notes escaped in the cold draw. Cocoa returned, losing the bitterness once the cigar got going. The second third dropped earth and hay, creating a dry smoke. Coffee and earth mixed for a dry and somewhat harsh final third. Black pepper retrohales did not play well with the other flavors. The lack of well-developed flavors coupled with the dry smoke hurt the overall score.
